Gần đây nhất khi thị trường tên miền nóng lên thì tội phạm tên miền xuất hiện rầm rộ kèm theo những mánh khóe mới khi trao đổi mua bán tên miền.

Cụ thể, kẻ lừa đảo sẽ gửi cho bạn một email cho biết khách hàng của chúng muốn mua lại tên miền của bạn và đề nghị bạn đưa ra một mức giá. Và dĩ nhiên bạn rất vui mừng và gửi lại, thật kỳ diệu thay là chúng đồng ý ngay hay có thể kỳ kèo đôi chút nhưng cuối cùng vẫn OK. Nhưng trước tiên chúng muốn bạn phải thẩm định tên miền từ những cty mà chúng cung cấp, với biện lý do là KH của họ khg am hiểu nhiều về tên miền nên cần phải có giấy chứng nhận từ bên thế 3 thì mới yên tâm giao dịch. Hứa là sau khi có giấy chứng nhận sẽ tiến hành thanh toán đủ tiền.

Kèm theo cho bạn 1 list các site mà chúng khuyến cáo, thực chất trang web này cũng được điều hành bởi bọn chúng. vì vậy khi bạn sử dụng dịch vụ thẩm định này (từ vài chục $ đến vài trăm $) chúng sẽ không bao giờ nhắc tới việc mua lại tên miền nữa.

Thực tế mánh khóe lừa đảo này của chúng chỉ với ý định “ăn tiền thẩm định” rồi âm thầm rút lui , chứ không có ý định mua tên miền. Trên thế giới, hình thức lừa đảo này đã diễn ra trong nhiều năm nay và luôn luôn được cộng đồng Domainer cảnh báo tuy nhiên theo các nhà đầu tư tên miền nó còn rất mới tại Việt Nam và newbie mới tham gia thị trường khó có thể lường trước được.

Những domain mà chúng hay nhắm đến là những domain được rao bán với giá vài chục ngàn dola trên các trang nước ngoài nổi tiếng như sedo, namejet, GoDaddy...
